Sven Longshanks and Dennis Wise look at ‘Power and Authority in the Modern World’ a core part of Australian education based upon the rise of National Socialist Germany.
It is compulsory for years 11 and 12 to study this and it takes the place of the previous mandatory holocaust indoctrination. It is designed to demonise National Socialism and by extension all Nationalism, by pretending that National Socialism was an undemocratic dictatorship that ruled by terrorising it’s citizens and censoring or executing it’s opponents.
The course looks specifically at the NSDAP between 1932 and 1939 and includes headings such as the initial consolidation of Nazi power, the nature of Nazi ideology, the role of prominent individuals in the Nazi state, the various methods used by the Nazi regime to exercise control and the impact of the Nazi regime on life in Germany.
Sven and Dennis break down the various headings and discuss the hidden history of what really happened.
