E Belfort Bax was a passionate advocate for the social and legal rights of men, which he could see were lacking in comparison to the rights of women.
He wrote the Fraud of Feminism in 1913 and although there have been many changes in law since then, the situation of women having the whip hand over men has not changed.
It was only in the last century, that women started being given preferential treatment under the law.
Bax sees feminism as being essentially in two parts, Sentimental Feminism and Political Feminism.
Sentimental Feminism makes use of man’s natural wish to protect the weaker sex, while the political side seeks to displace man and put woman in his place.

The laws today may be completely different, but they still have a similar result.
The man is still ordered to pay for whatever the woman wants, only nowadays he has to continue to pay even if she has left him.
