Sven Longshanks and Dennis Wise look at the Bengal Famine and Churchill’s role in starving four million Indians to death.

Nearly a tenth of Bengal’s population were starved to death during the war and Churchill ensured there was a complete press blackout on this.

According to the archives, he deliberately prevented any aid being sent to India, instead diverting it to Europe.

Two reasons are suggested for this, he wanted supplies for future use by Europe, but he also wanted to punish India for wanting to leave the Empire.
