The Battle of Trafalgar is where Admiral Nelson’s unconventional tactics defeated Napoleon’s far larger naval fleet, at a time when Britons were still patriots and understood the importance of sovereignty.
The French lost 22 ships out of 33 and despite heavy damage, the British lost none.
The victory confirmed British sea supremacy and it was all down to Nelson’s ingenuity.
