Document Lambda begins by firing off a round of organ-centric hope and inspiration to get our attention, before Aeodh adds trip-hop beats and runs with it, spitting rhymes about materialism and the machine.
Europaweite Aussichten sound like a cross between Kraftwerk and Holon with a definite German feel to the sequences, while Red Exile go far more of a sparse digital audio experience, stepping up the pace slightly and introducing a disco bassline.
Wolfsschanze heads off on a ‘Robert Miles’ style Ibizan sunset venture leaving it to For Null to bring back the menacing bass-lines, with plenty of squelch in amongst the music of the spheres.
Christian Ryder is back on remix duties again adding industrial beats and 303 Acid noises to a track by Resistor, building up to the retro dark synth of Mythical Vigilante’s tribute to Alex Jones and the masterful controlled chaos of Dav Dralleon’s cyberpunk soundtrack to the final judgement.
Havukruunu start with thunderous kick drums and glorious Viking vocals before moving into superb lead and rhythm guitars near the end, contrasting with Uberfolk’s offering of piano with classical accompaniment.
Soft strings herald the entrance of Whisper of Runes who build slowly to a crescendo with guitars, melancholy flute and a haunting range from the female vocalist.
Ovader bring back memories of early Maiden with their finger-tapping lead melodies, while Vapor Hiemis get back to the black metal with mournful pipe melodies and electronica influences.
Hiraeth softly strums us out with harmonised singing and a muffled shaman’s drum.
