Hard working Holon begins with sharp bass, electro beats and a psi-trance flavour before Synthwave Redneck’s cheery trills ring out, taking you away from the chaos if only for a short while.
Birovius blends two drum tracks overlaid with washes of organ and guitar riffs to good effect, while Sidestalker takes us back to the start of the rave era with breaks and ‘dominator’ loops.
Atmolifter and Vog Hunter go darksynth on us with a medium paced stomper leaving it to Fixions to round off the electronica section with a hard blast of cyberpunk interspersed with sci-fi interludes.
Nebula Orionis make good use of studio overlays with plenty of reverb in an ambient black metal style, before Excelsis add medieval melodies, pipes and chanting onto a viking metal backbone.
Audn slow things down with a wistful guitar solo leading into an angst-ridden post-black metal workout, contrasting with the harp plucking and heavenly choirs of Sviatibor’s entrance onto the pagan metal stage.
Benediction strip back the sound for a no-frills thrash about in easily the heaviest song of the week, leading us into a folk-metal rap-crossover tune from Skeptik.
Eoront let the cold winds of winter rip havoc through their epic black metal piece with touches of Rush apparent in places, while October Falls close the episode with acoustic guitars and light strings.
