Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson talks about the relationship between Zionism and Bolshevism, two supposedly opposing sides.
The Jewish control over Bolshevism is well known and attested to by all objective treatments of the subject. Jewish nationalism and Jewish Bolshevism, however, weren't at odds, contrary to the mythmakers. Jewish revolutionaries, all from the wealthiest families of the Russian empire, were nationalists first, seeing the Red movement as a quick route to power.
However, in ruling an empire as large as Russia, a totally Jewish form of rule would be impossible. Gentiles would be in government at all levels. Despite the slaughter of clergy and the imprisonment of Christians in GULags, the destruction of the Russian peasantry was simply impossible.
From this, the drive to Zionism became more attractive, a world where Jews would rule 100 percent of their territory. This is the relation between the two movements: they weren't opposed at all.
Once the Americans made Israel a better deal than war torn Russia, the Soviets had no choice but to reject the same Zionism it once sponsored.
