Sven Longshanks and Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson discuss an historic deal between China and Iran.
China now makes much of the world’s products, while Iran has much of the world’s fuel supply.
Both countries are under sanction or trade tariffs by the west and both have now signed a mutual co-operation deal.
On top of this, Iran will now be providing the land link China needs to reach into Europe with its belt and road initiative, a land rival to the Suez canal chokepoint.
Russia will be helping, by providing an alternative banking transaction system with none of the Iran/China trade being in dollars.
