Sven Longshanks and Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson look back at what led to the collapse of South Africa and the current riots.
South Africa is currently experiencing the worst riots in its history. Seventy people have been killed and entire shopping centres have been looted and burned to the ground. Even a water purification centre failed to escape the wrath of the Zuma supporters, who managed to destroy it. Milk tankers have been forced to empty thousands of litres of milk on the ground as the depots meant to accept it are all burned down, damaged or unmanned. Electric plants & factories are burning, even the newspapers have been forced to shut down & a famine is now imminent.
The excuse for the current devastation, is the arrest of the corrupt former President, Jacob Zuma on charges of corruption, but the reason for the failure of the country, is the diversity quotas.
When South Africans were polled, many said they preferred life under apartheid, because they were employed and had a good life expectancy.
