Sven Longshanks and Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson look at the real reason for the high gas prices in Europe.
At the Russian Energy Forum this week Putin pointed out that America was undermining her own currency by sanctioning payments for Russian fuel in dollars.
He said that at some point in the future, Russia might start accepting payments in crypto-currency.
He explained that the rise in costs for oil and gas, has been driven by a rise in demand for energy and a complete failure by Europe’s new windmills to provide that energy.
America and the EU have been trying to blame Putin for the price rise, while Russia has reminded them that if Russia were to be treated as a partner instead of an adversary, these sort of problems would be much easier to sort out.
