Sven Longshanks and The PatriArt discuss a speech from the great conqueror and look at Alexandrian Gnosticism.

After fighting continually and winning every battle for fifteen years, the army finally refused to fight any longer and despite Alexander’s impassioned speech, they returned home.

Alexander himself died possibly from poisoning at the age of thirty five and the empire he had built started to crumble.

Alexandria itself became famous as the seat of Gnosticism, a belief that the Hebrew God was really the devil and that the true god of all was female.
