Grandpa Dan warns truth seekers about getting addicted to the gibberish and taking bible verses out of context.
Parish of the Patriots returns with more one of a kind thought provoking discussion as well as a Christian message unavailable anywhere else. If you get something out of this show, your voluntary financial support is very much appreciated. If you wish to take part in that, you can find the information at the bottom of this page.
Generally speaking, the truth tends to be pretty straight forward. It is lies that require a lot of words. A pretty good indicator that someone is lying to you, is that they present you with a massive amount of gibberish. You can witness this daily in the media, where they present long drawn out articles explaining why it is, that what appears to be obvious is not really obvious at all, but instead, is this weird convoluted thing that is way too complicated to understand so you should just trust the “experts”, shut up and go along.
As truth seekers, we tend to understand this. However what we also must understand is that there are people out there, however well-meaning they may be, who are addicted to this gibberish. They may agree that the media is lying, but their alternative is simply a different form of gibberish. They may be quick to tell you that they don’t believe CNN’s gibberish, but they’re all fully on board if it’s Fox News’ gibberish. It’s just brand preference or perhaps, like much else in America it amounts to a form of cheering for a sports team; the truth isn’t the point, the point is which team are you cheering for.
In the Christian specific segment this week, we’ll deal with GPD having been triggered by a billboard of all things. This billboard proclaimed, “Real Christians Love Their Enemies”. This sort of pablum is nauseating and sadly, your host can’t simply ignore it. It doesn’t matter if poison is flavored to taste good, it’s still poison. As is so often the case, the problem arises because our word definitions have been twisted far beyond their original meanings. So what exactly does it mean to “love your enemies”? Though it is for the most part a topic that we’ve covered before, these deceptions whether intentional or not have to be pointed out for what they are when we see them.
Which makes more sense: We ought to treat people (including ourselves or our enemies) fairly regardless of how they act, or that we should have some sort of ill defined emotional affection towards people who hate and want to destroy us?
