Sven Longshanks and Max Musson discuss imperial measurements, dissenting comedians and Sir Francis Drake.
It is now legal again to buy and sell in imperial measures, but how long will it be before they try to decolonise the name?
British comedians like Jimmy Carr, Ricky Gervais and John Cleese are all starting to draw attention to the chilling effect on comedy the speech laws are having, while UK Gov appear to be ignoring the ruling last year which declared the recording of non-crime hate incidents to be unlawful.
Sir Francis Drake was seen as a pirate by the Spanish, but by the English he was one of our greatest heroes, defeating the Spanish Armada and circumnavigating the world.
He started life as the son of a farmer and it wasn’t until he saw English sailors left to die by the Spanish that he took up privateering against them.
