Sven Longshanks narrates the history of the original Klan, from 1866 to 1872.

The author explains the situation in the South that led to the rise of ‘The Invisible Empire’.

In the aftermath of the war, all the White men of the South were stripped of their right to vote, while all the illiterate freed slaves were given the franchise.

On top of this, the Federal government passed an act to eliminate Habeus Corpus and to remove all the protections the rule of law usually provides in trials.

This led to rampant bad behaviour and corruption, exacerbated by carpetbaggers and scallawags.
