Sven Longshanks, TruthVids and PatriArt look at Krampus and other assistants to Santa Claus.

Santa Claus today has been sanitised in the same way Christianity has been and the element of punishment for bad behaviour has been removed.

Characters like Krampus and Black Pete would originally frighten and punish badly behaved children.

Black Pete was said to put badly behaved children in his sack and take them back to Spain, where they would be forced to work for Santa.

This particular legend may have its origins in the White slave trade, since Black Pete was said to be a Moor.
