Sven Longshanks looks at the lowering of police standards in Memphis USA and in London UK.
In Memphis where Tyre Nichols was allegedly murdered by five Black police officers after resisting arrest and trying to flee on foot, the police department lowered standards so much that there was no physical text, felony criminal records were overlooked and so long as you went to college for 24 hours, you could be hired.
London is not much different, Sadiq Khan pledged to make the police 40% non-White by 2022 and now there are whole areas where the police are functionally illiterate and cannot even fill out a crime report.
Sadiq Khan says he has no faith in the police because he was stop and searched when he was an innocent teenager, but just like in America, in London Black youths are 5 times more likely to commit violent crime (murder by stabbing) than their percentage of the population.
This is the reason for there being disproportionate stop and search of the non-White community and if standards to join the police keep being lowered, it wont be long before London has an avoidable tragedy happen just like Memphis.
