Sven Longshanks looks at the Archbishop of Canterbury’s surprisingly candid explanation for recent changes to church tradition.
During a Church Council meeting in Africa, Justin Welby opened up about how government ministers threatened him with parliamentary action if the church did not change its teaching and allow gay marriage.
Welby also said the chair and direction of the synods are not set by the Archbishops, implying that the push to celebrate homosexuality was not coming from the church hierarchy.
He then identified atheism and individualism as being the reason for Christendom’s degeneration, as they leave one with no hope and with no sense of community or purpose.
