Sven Longshanks, TruthVids and PatriArt look at the expansion of Canute’s rule into Norway and Ireland.
Cnut was now known as the King of England, Denmark, Norway, part of Sweden and ruler among the Irish.
He was a benefactor of the church and even put himself forward for punishment under his own laws for killing a man.
After showing that even the king had not the power to rule over the tide, he stopped wearing his crown in deference to God.
If his descendants had not died, the north sea empire may have been the start of a long standing alliance.
