For many Americans, a simple task such as going shopping involves wading through homeless people, human excrement on the sidewalk and used drug needles and then hoping that you may aren’t violently attacked by what the media will vaguely describe as “a group of men”. Of course if you are, there will be no real police investigation and nobody will be arrested. One might think that a government which is unable to provide the most basic levels of security for its citizens would at least apologize for such a blatant level of failure but they don’t. Instead the failures the government decides to apologize for involve things such as the use of incorrect gender pronouns.
