Today's Orthodox Nationalist brings us again to the USSR and in particular, the “Siege of Leningrad” which was brought to an end 80 years ago. From September 8, 1941 to January 27, 1944, Leningrad was surrounded by Army Group North as it did not have the resources, men or armor to take the city. It was the most important part of the Soviet defense industry and the core of its industrial and scientific power. Mud and frost stalled the advancing Germans, leading to a bloody stalemate. The “Siege of Leningrad” was considered an act of “Nazi genocide” by the Nuremberg Show Trials, but it was no such thing. This lecture will refute the mythology of the “starving city” as well as the causes and effects of the stalemate in the Soviet far north.
