Sven Longshanks looks at the Manchester report into failures in grooming gang investigations and asks whether the public are put at risk, through failures to identify suspects wanted for similar crimes.
Grooming gangs were able to get away with their crimes in Manchester because resources were withdrawn from the investigations with no explanation.
At the time, the BNP were exposing these grooming gangs and were abused by the press and the politicians for doing so.
There is no confirmation, but it does seem plausible that the reason for these failures was a fear of being accused of racism and islamophobia for investigating them.
