Sven Longshanks looks at the people cheering the BBC on in it’s censorship of Britain’s patriotic songs.
There was talk of the BBC banning ‘Rule Britannia’ entirely, but now they say they will just be banning the lyrics.
A Black academic has hit out at supporters of the song and a White conductor was the original source of the calls to ban it.
The song itself just highlights the contrast between Britain’s position on the slavery of its subjects and that of certain other countries that allowed it.
