Patriotic History: The Confusion of Tongues – PH 070221

Sven Longshanks and The PatriArt look at the earliest evidence for language and writing before discussing the Hittites.

The earliest evidence we have for language is Sumerian cuneiform, which does not appear to have evolved from anything else.

After that we have Semitic and Indo-European languages, which are supposed to be separate, but there are connections between all three that show a common origin.

The origin of the Arabs is also looked at in this episode.
