The more you seek the truth, the more you find others who take comfort in the illusions they create for themselves. For instance; people believe it’s the job of the police to protect them and keep them safe, when the primary role of the police is collecting revenue for the state and when necessary, inflicting violence on behalf of it.
Likewise, when people hear the well rehearsed term “Our Democracy” they think it has something to do with a government having concern for the people they rule over. While it may be true that the government of “Our Democracy” is concerned about the people, it is not in the way that most imagine.
Recently the government released yet another report warning that the greatest threat “we” face is from so called “domestic extremists” (in other words, the people themselves). When they issue statements like this, they aren’t saying the people pose a threat to the nation, they’re saying the people pose a threat to the government.
While it is pretty obvious that this so called “threat” is very much overblown, it speaks volumes in regards to the stability of a system that feels threatened by those they are supposed to be tasked with governing over.
In the Christian specific segment we’ll be taking this time to discuss specifically what it is we are doing in this life as Christian believers. If you were given a set amount of time left on this Earth (for example, you were told that you have three months left to live), what would you do different with that time than you are doing now?
This leads to the question; if you would do things differently, then why is it that you are not doing them differently now? What are you waiting for? Too often the routines we fall into create a rut which becomes a self created prison. It’s time to re-evaluate and break free!
