Sven Longshanks narrates from a series of letters about plantation life during the slavery era.

In this episode the author talks about Sacrament Sunday at the Old Midway church, how holy communion at the church was attended by both Black and White.

He also talks about his inspiration for writing the letters, a particular missionary who was affectionately known as ‘The Apostle to the Blacks’.

He gives a sketch of his life and his labours amongst them.
