Sven Longshanks narrates from a series of letters about plantation life during the slavery era.
In this episode the author looks at the conduct of the slaves during the war and contrasts their loyal and honourable behaviour, with the bad behaviour of the yankees, who would enter houses and take whatever they wanted from the woman and children within.
The author finishes with a recap of all the letters and gives his hopes for the future relations between Whites and Blacks after emancipation.
