Is there any point in believing that you are going to “wake people up”? If so, then what more needs to be said and done to accomplish this? What information has been left out that is needed in order for the average person to “wake up”? If “waking people up” is a realistic goal, then what are we failing to do in order to accomplish this? If not, then what should we be focusing our energy on instead? These are the questions we will seek to find answers to this week. As always, the answers can only be found in the truth.
In the Christian specific segment we’ll be discussing “Prosperity Gospel”. For those who might be unfamiliar with this doctrine, it is essentially a teaching that “God wants you to have all of the desires of your heart”. From your dream home, a better job or a prettier girlfriend, you see God wants you to have it all!
The only thing you have to do (surprise! surprise!) is send more money to the preacher telling you about it. If on the off chance God doesn’t come through on your personal wish list, the problem is simply that you haven’t given enough to the preacher. Needless to say, we’re going to take this false doctrine and feed it through the wood chipper of truth.
