This week Grandpa Dan discusses one of the main purposes of this show: Namely what it means to “do something”. People always want some sort of shortcut to fix the broken world around them. However there are no shortcuts and the only thing you can control is yourself. Thus if you are going to “do something” you have to start by focusing on that which you can actually do. This means improving yourself. A great place to start is to use your logical mind to get control of your emotions and to not allow your emotions to control you. A man who is controlled by his emotions will display what is ultimately feminine behavior. If enough people improve themselves then they become a larger and larger collective. If the collective gets big enough then society as a whole begins to change to reflect this larger collective. Is this time consuming? Yes and again, there are no shortcuts.
In the Christian specific segment this week, GPD delves into the old saying that the Lord does not give us more than we can bear. This saying can serve to help us better understand the Lord or it can also actually undermine our faith. This discussion will focus on putting this saying in its correct context.
