After the October Revolution in Russia, the USSR would embark on an irrational path of genocide. There were a few from the outlying countries who tried to stop the tide, one of the more neglected today was the great Hetman Pavel Skoropadsky. While he often disagreed with the political positions of the White Army, he was indispensable to it. He was overthrown by the Masonic Directory in December of 1918, which destroyed any hope for a functional Ukrainian government. It's never been restored.
