In chapter six of St. John's Apocalypse – the most complex and difficult book of the Bible – the breaking of the seals is met with the release of “horsemen.” 

Each is of a different color, corresponding to the first four seals, but they have very different missions. They are described in only a few words. Still, while they have captured the imagination of moderns, they did not seem to merit much attention in the Patristic era. 

Given what is available today, this broadcast answers the question: Who or What are these beings?
