For decades, many on the Right have decried the book of Esther for various reasons. 

Indeed, Jews have taken this story to such extremes that it has become a major part of their own identity. 

It even justifies their own violence and hate towards gentiles. Their error should not blind us to the reality: today's Jews are not Esther, but Haman. 

“Jews” did not exist as such, at the time. Israel was oppressed by paganism. 

Most of the Orthodox Church Fathers accepted this book (in its Greek form) into Scripture, partly on these grounds
