Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson continues his look at whether Sergei Glazyev is being groomed to be the next Russian President

Sergei Glazyev (b. 1961) is a pro-Russian Ukrainian economist (born in Zaporozhye) living in Russia. He was on the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission and served as an official advisor to President Putin until 2019. 

Today, he is State Secretary of the Union State (Russia and Belarus). His academic works are not about economics per se, but about their moral and historical foundations. 

Glazyev seeks to upend traditional western economics and its market-based assumptions. Since he's personally sanctionedby the US and EU, he must be doing something right.
