Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson looks at the many similarities between Marxism and liberal-democracy 

Legutko (b. 1949) is a Polish professor of both philosophy and political science. This lecture will review his book, Demon in Democracy: Totalitarian Temptations in Free Societies (Encounter Books, 2016). He's one of the few intellectuals who have realized that liberal-democracy and Marxism are, at their fundamentals, nearly identical. As this has been a major argument for which Dr Johnson is fairly well-known, seeing it in a man who lived under both Marxism and liberalism is an important source of confirmation
