Recently French President Macron stated that the way to address the declining population numbers in rural areas was to send more immigrants to those areas. This highlights something that perhaps gets missed. Namely, that in the view of these politicians, a nation is defined as the state and the people exist solely to support the state.
Thus who those people are is totally irrelevant as all that defines the nation is the state. By this reasoning, since France can be defined as the French state, then it matters not what people occupy the real estate. Of course as with everything else we see in the West, what the people themselves think of all of this is irrelevant, for if there is one defining characteristic of “our democracy” it’s that the people have no say so in how they are ruled over.
In the Christian specific segment this week, we’ll be discussing the importance of understanding that life is comprised of stages. As such, whether you are currently going through a pleasant stage or an unpleasant one, it is important to bear in mind that it is all temporary. As Christian believers, we strive towards the truth (which by its very nature is the greater understanding of God) and as such we should have faith that all things work to bring us to a greater spiritual maturity and understanding of the Lord.
