As difficult as it may be to believe, there are still people out there who accept what the media tells them. When you drop a truth on them, they’ll respond with something along the lines of, “If that were true, someone in the media would have broken the story. After all, that would be Pulitzer Prize material right there!” What these people fail to realize is that we no longer have reporters, we have journalists.
In the Christian specific segment, we’ll be discussing the general topic of what it means to take on the lifelong commitment to follow Christ. The amount of dedication and work required is seldom if ever explained to people. As Christian believers, we strive for something knowing that we will never attain it in this lifetime (that is, to be as Christ like as possible). Yet we strive nonetheless.
If there is one thing that non believers point to and people in general don’t seem to understand, it’s Jesus’ teaching about “turning the other cheek”. This is probably by far the most misunderstood teaching in the New Testament and part of this is due to the near complete abandonment of the Old Testament by the church today. In the book of 2 Samuel 16: 5-12, King David gives us a perfect example of what it actually means to turn the other cheek.
