Romulus and Remus head off towards a secret bookshop that was the source of the literature used for their traditional education. The letter from their father had told them they must go there and find an old manuscript that had been copied out by a monk from Merlin’s writings. The manuscript contains instructions on how to contact the ancient heroes and kings of the Britons, but the boys are forced to read it in a multi-national franchised coffee shop as they could not find a cafe anywhere selling scones and afternoon tea. The vellum manuscript tells them they must sleep in an old church for three days, but since all the churches are now occupied by the enemy and actual praying in them could get you arrested for being a terrorist, they decide to head back to the family home and try the ritual out there.
