Dennis Wise joins Sven Longshanks to look at the miracle of Fatima this week and the scandal of Pope Francis wasting his chance to consecrate Russia when President Putin asked him about it.
Three children saw a vision of the virgin Mary in the Portuguese village of Fatima in 1917. The vision told the children that there would be a miracle on October 13th and that many people must attend. Seventy thousand onlookers went, including some that just wanted to mock the children and the church. On the day itself, the sun appeared to go down, only to then dance around the sky and rocket towards the earth. The audience were terrified and many thought it was the end of the world. This was all reported the next day in the anti-Catholic freemasonic newspaper by the writer who had attended, expecting to use a non-miracle as a means to attack the church.
The children were also given three visions, one was of hell, the other was of war and the third was a secret. They were told that if they wanted to avoid the horrors of the visions from happening, then Russia must be consecrated by the Pope. At the time, Russia was in the hands of the Bolsheviks and it was thought impossible to fulfil the instructions, but just before the outbreak of world war two, there was a strange light that appeared above Europe in the night that was as bright as daylight. This was an announcement that the second vision was now coming true.
After the war, the surviving child that saw the visions, tried to pressure the Pope into revealing the third secret to the world, but he refused at the time. He eventually said that it would be revealed in 1960, or after his death, whichever came sooner. He died and the church waited to be told the secret in 1960 only to be let down once again. Eventually the witness died too, but by this time there were suspicions she had been assassinated and a double was pretending to be her.
Finally we get to now and Russia is no longer in the hands of the communists. Russia is experiencing a Christian revival and Putin goes to Pope Francis and asks him about Fatima and would the Pope like to consecrate Russia, which according to prophecy would avert a great catastrophe. Amazingly Pope Francis refused and said he wanted to kill Fatima off once and for all. This should have been an absolutely massive scandal in the the church, but it wasn’t. Why is that and why did the Pope refuse to do what the vision of Mary had instructed him to?
