Isembard Kingdom Brunel built railways, bridges and the largest and fastest steam ships ever made.

He completely revolutionised naval engineering and without him transatlantic travel would not have become common.

His aesthetic tastes spawned an entire genre called ‘Steampunk’ and many of his creations are still in use today, having lasted since the Victorian age.
