Sven Longshanks and Max Musson discuss the Falklands War and begin a new presentation on William Stukeley.
Britain today could be entering into a summer of discontent with multiple trades talking of industrial action, but 40 years ago we were the victors in a war that had all the odds stacked against us.
From reaching the Falklands with our ancient Vulcan bombers, to bluffing the Argentinians when we had run low on ammunition, the tale of this war really shows that where there is a will, there will always be a way.
William Stukeley was the first to really draw the public’s attention to Stonehenge and Avebury, he measured them, drew them and used classical texts to theorise on who built them.
For 15 years Stukeley travelled every summer by horseback cataloguing our ancient megaliths and researching the pre-Christian traditions surrounding them.
