Sven Longshanks and Max Musson talk about a Sikh pleading guilty to treason and Oswald Mosley’s economic memorandum.
Jaswant Singh Chai tried to kill the now deceased queen with a crossbow, in a revenge attack for the Amritsar massacre.
The massacre happened over 100 years ago, but Jaswant still felt obliged by his ancestral ties to avenge it.
It doesn’t matter what country you are born in or move to, your family will always mean more to you.
Oswald Mosley’s economic memorandum was praised by Keynes and even used by John Major decades later.
Neither Labour or Conservative would make use of it at the time though, so Mosley formed a new party to promote it instead.
Presented by Sven Longshanks and Max Musson
