As we enter into the so-called “Christmas season”, we are going to hear a lot about charity. As the old saying goes: Charity starts at home. Some people consider themselves charitable because they donate to people on the other side of the world while their own blood, their own family goes without help. This is not charity but rather self aggrandizement.
In this week’s Christian specific segment, GPD discusses the steps necessary when preparing to move to a new country. You will need to acquire currency for your new home, learn the language, become familiar with the customs of the new country as well as things such as etiquette and what sort of work you will be able to do in order to contribute to that society. These same principles apply to the kingdom of God.
