Sven Longshanks looks at the banning of an online chat group for being a ‘Far Right Terror Group’ and asks what can be done to prevent more of these groups appearing.
The leader of the FKD was a 13-year-old Estonian boy and of the two high profile arrests, one was a 16-year-old and the other was 21, but needed an appropriate adult in the dock with him.
Anyone else involved should take care to have nothing to do with their former friends in the chatroom and they should avoid using the same language and even talking about the same subjects, as all have been used as evidence to prove continuing membership of other proscribed organisations.
This behaviour does need to be curtailed, but is diverting all the resources available for terror cases the best way to stop it?
Apart from using an atom bomb to crack a walnut, it means less resources are directed towards Islamic terrorism.
Despite there being more arrests of White people for terrorism than non-White, only 1 in 12 UK terror cases involved a White man in the last 2 years and it was nationalists who tipped police off in that instance, it had nothing to do with any proscribed organisation.
