Sven Longshanks looks at attempts to cancel a steam engine in Wales for links to slavery.
The National Museum of Wales wants to relabel a steam engine to claim the invention has links to slavery.
Yet railways were an essential part of David Livingstone’s plan for abolishing slavery as without them, the Black Africans would not have been able to transport the goods it was hoped they would replace slaves with, to the coast.
The drive to distort history originates with a desire to increase Black people’s self esteem, but since we live in a multicultural territory, that results in the diminishing of White people’s self image.
