Patriotic History: Alfred the Great I – PH 012023

Sven Longshanks, TruthVids and PatriArt begin looking at the life of this inspirational British king.

Using quotes from Bishop Asser’s ‘Life of Alfred the Great’ it is explained why the Wessex Saxons refused to allow a Queen to rule and how the young Alfred was a quick learner and yearned for a proper education which the Saxons could not provide, due in part to Danish raiding parties.

The young Alfred was also troubled by his adolescent lust and prayed for God to give him an illness to distract his mind from indecent thoughts and he was rewarded with piles.

Thankfully these went away on his wedding night, only to be followed by a much worse internal disorder.
